The Village Education Solutions (TVES) was born from a deeply personal mission. As founder and CEO, Brandi L. Spencer, M.Ed., my connection to educational equity isn’t just professional – it’s personal. From 2nd through 12th grade, I was a student in Title 1 schools, experiencing firsthand both the challenges and opportunities these environments present.
From Offshore Engineering to Educational Innovation
My journey took an extraordinary path through the energy sector, where I worked as a field engineer for Schlumberger’s cementing division. For two and a half years, I thrived in the challenging offshore environment, applying complex engineering principles in real-world situations. This experience not only honed my technical expertise but also strengthened my problem-solving abilities and leadership skills in high-pressure situations.
The transition from offshore engineering to education might seem unexpected, but it was a natural evolution of my passion for STEM and dedication to making a difference. My engineering background brings a unique perspective to education, allowing me to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications in ways that resonate with students.
Our Mission
As a woman who navigated both the engineering field and Title 1 schools, I often found myself being the "only one" in the room – the only woman, the only person of color, or both. This experience ignited a passion to create what I wished I had seen more of in my own educational journey: engaging STEM education that speaks to all students, particularly those from underserved communities.
Our Vision
TVES emerged from this vision – a commitment to transform STEM education and make it accessible, engaging, and relevant to all students, especially those in Title 1 schools. We're not just teaching STEM; we're showing students that their background doesn't determine their potential, and that they belong in any field they choose to pursue.
